Again this year the Tri-County Fair and Radio Station WELD will sponsor the "Tri-County Fair Star" contest.  This contest is open to vocalists from Grant, Hardy, and Pendleton counties.  There will be three categories, solos, age 12 to 21, solos, over 21 and duets, any age.  The contest will be limited to the first 10 entries in each group.

The preliminary contest will be Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 7:00 om at the Fair Grounds in Petersburg.  The finals will be held Wednesday night of Fair week, August 5, starting at 8:00 pm or immediately following the parade.  The first, second, and third place winners will receive cash prizes.  There will be special entertainment at each event.
